Aditya L1 said goodbye to earth forever
15 lakh km long journey started
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on Tuesday
India's first space-based solar observatory, Aditya-L1, is now on a trajectory
Sun-Earth will take it to L1 point
It is located about 15 lakh kilometers away from the Earth.
Marks the beginning of the approximately 110-day trip to Sun-Earth Lagrange point 1 (L1)
Objective of Aditya-L1 mission launched on September 2
To study the photosphere, chromosphere and corona of the Sun
It will also investigate the dynamics of space weather and the propagation of particles and fields.
L1 point provides uninterrupted view of the sun
Once Aditya-L1 reaches this point
It will enter a halo orbit and remain there for the duration of its mission.
